Editorial: Shady scholarship agencies rob students of money September 29th

Lawmakers said colleges paid $10 dollars in administrative costs for every $1 awarded in scholarships. Colleges, like Colorado State University with a $13.1 million shortfall in fiscal year 2009, can't afford to be hustled out of money that should filter back to students. But, instead of giving these higher ed money pimps what they really deserve, lawmakers are sitting idle.

Colorado State University Athletics

Colorado State University is an NCAA Division I school, with basketball, cross-country, football, golf, and track & field for men and basketball, cross-country, diving, golf, softball, swimming, tennis, track & field, and volleyball for women. The team nickname is the Rams.

Sports facilities include a large outdoor stadium and an indoor multipurpose arena.

Colorado State offers several varsity teams that compete in the NCAA Division I athletics level. The Rams have demonstrated proficiency and success against their rivals in that area.

Also at CSU are a myriad number of ways for all students to participate in sports. The “Club Sports” program at CSU includes student-run sporting organizations that go beyond normal intramurals. Participants compete against students from other schools while developing leadership skills and getting all-important exercise. Students run all aspects of the clubs, including funding, management, and scheduling.

CSU also offers the Outdoor Adventure Program and the Challenge Course, both unique athletic opportunities that take advantage of CSU’s location near some of the best natural resources in the country.
